Overflowing with Praise

Week 23

Baby size: Easton is now about the size of a large mango. He weighs just over a pound and is about eleven inches long.

New developments: He now has a sense for movement (hopefully he will not have his mother's rhythm). His hearing has become more keen and he can now hear everything I hear, just muffled by all the other sounds he hears in my belly.

Weight gain: I have gained 13 lbs since my pregnancy began.

What the dr said: My weight gain was on a good track, blood pressure was good, hemoglobin good, and great that I am feeling the baby move. His heart beat sounded great and on my next visit (in a month) they will do the glucose test for gestational diabetes. He suggested I go to a class on breast feeding and one for the final part of the pregnancy to prepare us for what is to come.

What mom is experiencing: Leg cramps! I often wake up during the night with them and they are so hard to get rid of! Sometimes I have to start dancing around the room to get rid of them! Also, I am extremely tired and go to bed very early.

We enjoyed the beautiful weather on Sunday and I took the dogs for a walk. I am confident baby Easton is used to the sound of barking and cuddling with the puppies. I know they will be the best of friends! I can't wait to be able to take Easton on walks with the dogs. I am looking forward to staying home for a couple of months with them!

22 Weeks!

I go to the doctor for my monthly appointment on Friday so will know more then about weight and how everything looks! One thing is for sure, this baby does a lot of kicking, especially when he's hungry! (Or so I assume!)

Size: Easton is the length of a spaghetti squash, about eleven inches long. He has broken the one pound mark now.

New developments: He has developed a grip now as well as his sense of sight. Hair is even sprouting on his little head. His lips, eyebrows, and eyelids are becoming more distinct. He has tiny tooth buds forming beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but the irises lack pigment (hoping for his daddy's blue eyes!).

Mommy: the only difference I've really noticed (besides my belly growing) is that my nails are growing much faster. I read that your feet may get longer, praying that doesn't happen! I of course am very tired and take long naps on the weekends. Since we are in the middle of tax season, I am working very long days. I continue to eat more and more. This growing boy loves food as much as I do!

Clothes: I am in maternity clothes full time now. I am just ready for warm weather! I am tired of cold, rainy, and dreary weather. It makes me feel blah!

This week: I am looking forward to hearing his little heart beat and being one more week closer to meeting our little guy! We also found out that Easton's little friend is going to be a boy!! I am so excited that our little boy is going to get to grow up with Ryan and Dana's! I know they will be the best of friends!

21 Weeks!

Time sure is flying by! I can't believe we are 21 weeks along already!

Baby Movements: Baby Easton is just a kickin'! It is the most amazing feeling. Since Friday morning, he has been constantly moving around. After shopping Saturday, he was doing some serious kicking...I think he was hungry! Daniel has seen him kicking several times now.

Clothes: Saturday, my wonderful mom went with me to buy a new wardrobe...maternity clothes. Casual clothes were easy to find, but finding work maternity clothes (that aren't super expensive) was hard! I am now stocked up for the most part and hope to not have to buy too much more until it gets real hot!

Size: He weighs about 3/4 of a pound and is 10 1/2 inches long, about the length of a carrot, or about the size of a large banana.

New Developments: He is now making full movements and has eyelids and eyebrows! His taste buds have begun developing too.

Mommy: is rubbing that cocoa butter on every day hoping for no stretch marks! I will gladly take a few though for our baby boy. We are getting so excited and can not wait for you to be here! Thank goodness we have tax season to pass the time or the days would be dragging by!

It's confirmed!

We went for our 20 week ultrasound on Wednesday and in about her first five seconds looking at the baby she confirmed it was definitely a BOY! Daniel was relieved since I had been joking with him about what if they said it was a girl. We even played a mean little trick on my mom on the way home and she thought it was a girl. The doctor said he looked good and we saw his arms and legs and face and his little body was bouncing up and down (we think he had the hiccups)! It was very neat to see him, and I'm glad Daniel got to go!

So...now that we have that confirmed...in 20 weeks Lord willing we will have us a little boy named Easton. He has furniture and some clothes but that is about it. Hopefully I will decide for sure on the bedding this weekend and maybe start registering and definitely find me some more clothes!

Other exciting news...I finally felt the baby move today! And not just once, it has been all day! He keeps kicking me! It has been the neatest thing since I've been pregnant. I love it! Hope you enjoyed the update!

Half way!

20 WEEKS!

I can not believe we are to the half way point on our journey to meet little Easton! We are so excited! We can not wait to get to see him on the ultrasound tomorrow.

This past weekend my mom and I went shopping for his baby bedding. What a hard decision to make! There are a lot more options for little girls, but I have found a few boy bedding sets that I really like. We are trying to stick with the light blue walls since they were already that color, so that makes it a little harder.

Size: The baby is the size of a small cantaloupe this week! He is the length of a banana. Since he started stretching out, they will measure him head to toe now instead of head to bottom. I'm anxious to see how big he is measuring. He should weight about 10 1/2 ounces and be about 6 1/2 inches long.

New Developments: He is swallowing a lot more now and producing poopy for his first diaper. Kinda weird to think about!

Clothes: Maternity clothes are the best! They are so comfortable! Even my belly band is starting to feel tight now. I'm ready to go shopping for some more maternity clothes, especially work clothes.

Me: I should start gaining about a pound a week now to add to the 8 I've already gained. A funny story: Last Thursday I told me co-workers that my stomach hurt and felt like it was trying to stretch out. Little did I know that's exactly what it was doing. When I got home, Daniel noticed it and could not believe how big my tummy had gotten that day. It was so strange. Since then, it seems much bigger and more noticeable!

Message for Easton: We can't wait to see you tomorrow. Show off for us while we are watching! We both hope the next few months go by fast so we can meet you! We can't wait to see what you will look like and to hold you in your arms. You have lots of family who can not wait to meet you too!
