31 Weeks

Seems like the weeks are just going by faster and faster! Can't believe we are already 31 weeks. This week was filled with much rest, relaxation, and catching up for mommy! So thankful tax season ended and brought a few vacation days with it!

Baby Size: We are looking forward to finding out the size of baby Easton this Friday as we make a trip to the doctor for another ultrasound. We haven't had one since our 20 week visit! He should measure around 16 inches long and weigh about 3.3 pounds (the weight of four navel oranges). He is heading into a growth spurt!

New Developments: Easton can now turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath the skin. His brain is developing faster than ever. He can now perceive information from all five senses. While mommy is busy working, Easton spends his time making faces, hiccupping, swallowing, breathing, pedaling with his little hands and feet, and sucking his thumb.

Prego Updates:
Easton is a very active baby! He kicks all the time and I love to watch him move around in my tummy. It never gets old, especially since it is a sign that he is active and healthy!

After I made the comment to Daniel last week that the pregnancy had not really had an effect on how often I have to go to the bathroom, it hit this weekend. I have to go ALL the time now. So much for that!

I got my first prenatal massage last week. It was amazing! Don't think it will be my last one before this baby comes! For those wondering, the massage is done while you are laying on your side. No foot massages though since they can cause contractions.

Nursery:
I finally got the bedding on the crib. We have had the crib and my grandmother got us the mattress. I have also had the bedding for a while. I went ahead and purchased the mattress pad and an ultimate crib sheet. After making the bed one time, I have decided that I am going to LOVE the ultimate crib sheet. My mom's neighbor told me to get one, and I am soo glad! I plan to get one or two more so that I never have to change the sheets (except for major blowouts). Check out the cute rug I found at Homegoods! So glad I found it!

30 WEEKS

I can't believe we are just ten weeks away from meeting our baby boy. We are beginning to realize that our lives are about to change. We have started recognizing that things we do now will no longer be the same. As we slept in Saturday morning and just enjoyed not having to do anything and the peace and quiet of our house, we reminded each other that it soon would be different. It will be a good different though! We are very anxious and excited! I am looking forward to the baby showers and all the preparation that will be going on for the next couple of months.

Baby Size: Easton's size has not changed much from last week. He is as big as a butternut squash, still around 17 inches long and a little over 3 pounds.

New developments: His brain is taking on grooves and indentations to make way for brain tissue. His bone marrow has taken over production of red blood cells. A lt of the hair covering his body is disappearing. His body fat and brain are regulating his temperature now. All of these things are preparing Easton to live on his own.

Mommy: Had her 29 week appointment and will now have appointments every thee week. This appointment went great. I measured 29 weeks, right on schedule, and had gained a total of 23 pounds since my beginning pregnancy weight. I'm very excited for my next appointment because I will be having another ultrasound. They need to check on my placenta since it measured low in my first one, but I'm excited about seeing my little boy again!

Symptoms: I'm definitely feeling pregnant these days. Besides this big ole belly, my fingers and feet have swelled up. I had to take my rings off and some of my shoes are very tight. I have also been getting some serious leg cramps at night. I'm looking forward to having time to go on walks and do a little exercising now. Hopefully that will help!

Yay for tax season being over!! I enjoyed sleeping an hour later, getting home in time to cook dinner, go for a walk, and relax with my hubby. Lots to do to prepare for Baby Easton!

29 Weeks!

Baby Size: Easton is now about seventeen inches long, just about the length he will be when he is born (probably a little longer if he is anything like his mommy and daddy!). He weighs about 2 1/2 to 3 pounds and should at least double in weight before he is born.

New Developments: His wrinkled skin is smoothing out as he continues to develop fat under the skin. This fat serves as an energy source (which would explain all the moving around)! The buds for his permanent teeth are budding now. His head continues to grow to make room for his brain.

Easton: Has been moving around a lot! I'm not sure if it's all his new energy from the fat he is gaining or if he is just as excited as I am that tax season is one week from being over! The lists have begun, because we have just over two months before he will be here!

Mommy: Besides making lists will be going to the doctor this week and then every other week from here on out. We also got exciting news this week. I think we have found someone to keep Easton once I go back to work. God definitely worked that one out! Out first shower is in less than a month, and the next two months will be very busy getting ready for the baby! I'm looking forward to a few days off from work next week to celebrate the end of tax season. We have not made big plans yet, so I'm not sure what we will be doing!

Too tired to put on the normal picture outfit! Daniel thinks I grew even bigger today!

28 Weeks!

I can't believe we are less than three months away! We are in the home stretch!

Baby Size: Easton weighs about 2 1/4 pounds, like a small cabbage, and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels.

New Developments: He can blink his eyes which now have eyelashes. He may also be able to see the light that filters through the womb. He is developing billions of neurons in his brain and continuing to add body fat preparing for birth! He is coughing, sucking, and breathing better. The best news is that if Easton were born today, he would have a good prognosis since his lungs have matured.

Mommy: Is tired! And my feet are starting to swell. Other than that and having back pains at times, pregnancy is still pretty easy.

This week: We enjoyed celebrating Easter with my family. The Easter bunny brought clothes dividers for Easton's closet as well as some hangers so that we can hang up all his clothes. He also brought a basket for Easton's room and the sweetest lamb that makes sounds for the baby.

Next week: Starting next week I will be going to the doctor every two weeks. Just two more weeks until tax season is over and I can get busy preparing for our little boy to be here!
